My name is Ana. I was born in Mexico and due to financial reasons, I came to live in the U.S at the age of 10. For 18 years I was unable to return to my home back in Mexico. I lived the struggle of being separated from my loved ones and in this struggle, my desire to help support the local economy in Mexico was born. It is my belief that generating employment opportunities within communities can help alleviate the need to immigrate to other countries. I majored in International Development Studies at UCLA with the mission to one day start a project that would help the local economy back home. This dream came true with Anireth Nikte. Anireth Nikte’s mission is to source items responsibly to stimulate the local economy while at the same time helping preserve local traditions. We believe that love can be transmitted in each handmade product. Each piece is made with care and love to produce unique one-of-a-kind pieces. While traveling through different regions within Mexico I marveled at the talent, passion, and love artisans have for their craft. With Anireth Nikte I hope I can showcase this talent with you, and I hope you can take a piece of their love for their craft with you.
